Let's Go to the GHETTO!

This weekend Mike came to good ole Downers Grove. I love not having to pack or drive 2 hours there and 2 hours back!

Friday we went to Gioradonos from some yummy yum famous stuffed pizza. Our waitress was freak'n crazy...the only way to describe her was black and boudaous! She brought our salads out right away and we ate them like it was our job (mind you it's pretty late since Mike was stuck in traffic and we were straving). Just as I slide my bowl to the edge of the table, she grabs it and says "oh for me?..thanks". A little strange right. Then the time was passing and no pizza to be had. We were sitting close to the kitchen, so everytime she came out we looked to see if it was ours....with sad puppy dog faces on. We quitely discussed how I thought she didn't put our order in. Then there it was in all it's glory...our pizza. The waitress sets it down and says "here...were friends again, right?"....then continues to says "I bet you thought I forgot to put your pizza in huh?"....yea neither of us knew what to say we just put smiles and then laughed. Maybe that was a "had to be there" story....but honestly it was funny, and our pizza was scrumpous.

Saturday we shopped all day. From checking out some Abercrombie pants at OakBrook for Mike to getting me some Easy-Mac at Walmart....we seriously went everywhere. That probably had to do with me being on a mission to find a black north face fleece...I must have just missed all the sales....BASTARDS! Oh don't forget the stop at the Sprint Store where I was ready to kill someone. When I switched from Nextel to Sprint, it was suppost to be considered an upgrade with no disconnection fee...LIARS....for over a week now I've been working with them to waive my $250 fuck'n dollar fee. I guess the shady bastard (Ken DeSantos) who sold my phone to me was a Nextel "partner" not Nextel "nextel" so that's why I received the fee. Somehow Sprint had no idea that there was such thing or a difference...so yea....they're working on it. I'm glad that they are taking the blame for ignorance but it's seriously stressing me out and taking up a fuck-load of my time. FUCK YOU KEN DESANTOS!!!

Now that that is out of my system. Saturday night was a rock'n good time at the Cadallic Ranch. We were meeting Keri and Robyn (some of my old sorority sisters) and some of there friends there for karaoke. We walk in and it was like walking into the wild west. From 10 gallon hats to Wrangler butts...never seen before so close to Chi-town! Oh and there was some 2-step'n going on. I totally thought we were in the wrong place since this is not somewhere that Keri and Robyn would be hanging out. Finally we figured out the karaoke was in the resturant bar side...phew. Thank goodness since I didn't my 2-step'n boots on. I had so much fun since it's been a while since I have drank and been on real bar scene plus with some of my girls. I was glad Mike really liked the girls. For the most part everyone sang good, but Keri and I did have to bust out the "trap door" button once. Everyone sang but me. I just didn't consume enough liquid courage...haha. There's always next time.

So now today I'm super tired, since Mike and I are old folks now and usually don't stay up super late like we did last night. Today was road trip to the ghetto day and laundary day. First, Mike and I printed out directions to my next rotation at Rush Presbyterian St. Lukes Medical Center. Of course it's super close to downtown in the Chicago city limits (ghetto enough for me). I just don't drive in the city...can you blame me? It's craziness!!! It was a beautiful day so we jumped in the car....me behind the wheel...AHHHHhhh....opened the sun-roof and turned up some ghetto rap music as we drove to the city (we just wanted to fit in...haha j/k). I thought before my next rotation started I should road-trip and find it..oh and maybe once drive to the city...haha. It was successful...phew. I bet Mandi's glad that I did that one without her... seeings what happened last time...hehe. Today was a proud day for me...I'm all grown up now. Just wait for when I have to get up at 4am to sit in rush-hour traffic and ass hole drivers. Let alone trying to find my way in Rush...there's like a millon buildings and they're gi-normous! Plus...my first parking garage experience...oh goodie. Anyway, we got back in one piece.....did some laundary and relaxed. I didn't get anything done since Mike left like I wanted to, but that's no surprise.

12 and up???

This last weekend again was good times.

Friday night we went down to Tonya and Dons and brought them some stellar food from Anchor. After enjoying our food and watching Madison freak out, then it was on to some fun and games. Tonya and I checked the closet for some good time'n games. I picked "Malarky"....after watching Don read and try to explain it for nearly 20 minutes we sent the guys to Walmart to get something.....ANYTHING else that maybe we'd understand. The sad part was I'm sure "Malarky" was for kids 12 and up and us mid-20 somethings couldn't figure it out. Anywho...the guys brought back "Taboo"....within minutes we figured it out and Tonya and I were ready to kick some ass. No lie the guys' first word was Ninja....I nearly peed my pants! We were having such a good time I swear we almost went though all the cards. At the end....Tonya and I prevailed!!! So I did cheat a little from time to time, but we won even if you took away some of the points that we got possibly from cheating...hehe. Tonya and I are the Taboo-Masters! I can't wait to play it again.

Saturday Mike and I went to Madison to search me out an exercise bike and weights for my room. We struck gold at Walmart........I got a sweet ass exercise bike for $88!!! Oh and they had my Hope breast cancer PINK golf clubs and accessories! Oh yea...I'm buying those and picking golf up again this summer. I can't wait. Then Mike and I went to see Madison County in Evansville. It sucked.......plus it didn't help that we ate Hooters for dinner then I drink two strong drinks.....my stomache was HURTING and gurgling. Then it started to heat up with the concert and a million people there. I thought I was going to die. So we left, Mike was a little upset but I said we could go to the Anchor I just needed water. So we hung out at the Anchor and talked to Diana all night, we even got to see a fight. Mike won the wheel game with me there so now I know I'm not really bad luck. Then Diana convienced us to play the fruity slots since she swore it was about to hit....ummm yea....it didn't. It was so crazy I put $10 in and lost it in 30 seconds....then Mike puts in $10 and plays for a swear no lie 2 hours. Anywho It was a good time.

Sunday Mike so kindly put together my exercise bike then I rode it while he put together his new entertainment center. He made me the yummiest tacos ever for dinner, after a good time at the grocery store "The Pig" as always. Then I was sad and went back to hell. It was nice to feel more like myself this weekend. I hate not being able to use each weekend with Mike to the fullest, since I miss him so much during the week. Damn that hot bastard that I love so much!

An Old Friend

About a month ago, I wrote my old friend, Maria, who was my lil sis in my sorority. For some reason or another shortly after I left WIU nearly 3 years ago....she stopped talking to me. I tried my hardest to find out what happened from calling and emailing her to talking to a mutual friend who said Maria was mad but it would pass and she didn't want to get in the middle. I got no where. So for the past about 2 years I've been struggling with not knowing what happened (how could I do something if I wasn't even around??). As you can tell I can write off shitty people rather easily, but with her it was different....she wasn't a shitty person. So when I wrote the email a month ago I never really thought I'd get a response, but I did. The email sounded like old times, and saying "I'm sorry we lost touch it's my fault and I don't know what happened", and she wanted to meet up. I too wanted to meet up, but I didn't want to meet up with her and be a bitter bitch. I'm not going to lie...I've got some hard feelings here. She was my best friend at WIU and meant the world to me.

Well last night I did meet up with her for dinner. I debated bringing up the long silence because there is no reason for her "not to know" or "remember" what happened. I ended up having a great time with her and she wanted to know about everything in my life, especailly Mike. We talked and talked for hours, but I just couldn't bring up the negative side and ruin the evening. When she did leave, we agreed to try to get together every week/every other week. Shortly after she left, I kinda got mad at myself for not sticking to my guns and questioning her. Oh well that will have to wait until we met up again.

I guess I just don't want to invest myself in this again, without knowing the unknown. I just don't think I could handle the heartache again. She meant and does mean too much to me to have to let her go again.

Fun at the Hospital

Zoey, Me and Michelle Posted by Picasa

I had a great time this weekend even though it went super super fast. Friday night Mike and I met in Rockford to see Michelle and Zoey. It was so nice seeing Michelle I didn't want to leave!! Hopefully in the near future we can all get together somewhere other than a hospital...hehe. Friday night we went to my parents and Saturday we helped around the house again. The new floor in the kitchen looks great but it was SOOO cold on my feet. I guess that's the price you pay for a sweet new floor. Saturday night, I just wanted to stay at my parents I so didn't want to leave. Mike and I left kinda late on Saturday to come back here to school. This morning for some reason we woke up super early and decided to go out for breakfast full of bacon-y goodness. After that we went to the Chicago Premium Outlets in Aurora. It was so glorious to go shopping (even if it was just for work clothes)...it's been too long. All I have to say is Banana Republic had to restock after I left. Then tonight I cooked a gourmet meal in the ole dorm room of pork chops and garlic bread...it was interesting but not too bad. Then to end the fabulous meal, Karen stopped by and brought us some cake from a baptism she was at today. The cake was lucious...I didn't want to share with Mike, but I did anyway...haha. Anywho, my guilty pleasure is on right now "Flava of Love" on VH1 and it's the finale so I must give it my full attention.

Baby Sherman Arrives :)

Congratulations Michelle on your new beautiful baby girl!!! I'm still crossing my fingers about Friday I'll be finding out tomorrow!

The Senior Expo today was interesting. Overall things went good, but there are always the few that test your patience. One lady yelled at us, one man thought we stole his "goodie" bag, and another lady threw a bitch fit when we closed down early since it was dead. Speaking of dead, this was interesting there was a wonderful ceremation booth for the elderly there today....that's way morbid. It's like having a divorce lawyer at a Bridal Show. Oh well it was everything senior today and I guess that counts. The favorite part of my day was when I got to sneak off to the massage therapist booth which was kitty-corner from ours. I was way sad having to watch other people getting rubbed down, while I was being bomb-bamded with craziness. So when I did get to sneak over I even got the hottie massage therapist to rub on me *wink wink* Me likey! All I'm going to say was he was very polite and was very good at his job. Oh silly me, that shouldn't have been the best part of my day....it should be the at least ten old men that hit on me in front of their wives today. It was a little weird, but I just put a smile on my face and said thank you. Nothing like a good creepy compliment on your body from a elderly man.

I did have it better than some guys that were from my school that were at a different booth. They were doing osteoporosis testing. They do that with a barefoot heel scan. BARE ICKY OLD FEET. It's a fact when your old your feet are icky there's a lot of years on those feet. I honestly would have puked.

Alright I'm off like a prom dress to go get ready for bed.

Manual Labor...what's that?

This last weekend was pretty interesting. Mike and I went to see my parents this weekend, since it had been way too long.

Friday night was BINGO with Michalin, Rebecca, Missy, and some more folks. It was a crazy good time. From Missy's hard nipples (she put the dobber rounded caps in her shirt) and Rebecca farting to Mike sticking a dobber out his zipper of his pants. I wish I knew how to get the pictures out of my new cell. (by the way no more beep beep...I have sprint....but the same number) No one won as usual, so I still won't be playing the "Bringing It Back Game" since I can't bring back the time we won at BINGO since we've never won *sniffle sniffle*. For some reason we were shhh'ed more than the lady behind us hacking up a lung while smoking another one. I guess there must be a sign somewhere saying "NO LAUGHING ALLOWED.....(but Hacking is okay)". We did go to the bar for a little bit after BINGO since Rebecca was acting like she'd die if we didn't.

Saturday the manual labor began. Mike and my dad started getting things ready for the new tile floor my parents are putting in. All the while I was doing laundary, cleaning the house, and sorting all the junk in my room. Saturday night Mike and I went to the Oregon Roadhouse for dinner. My salad and potatoes were yummy but my riblet strips were spicy enough to burn my asshole. At least Mikes steak was good.

Sunday I joined in the manual labor.....from moving chairs and cleaning to hammering staples down from the old linoleum. I think I nearly died before we were done. My parents were eternally grateful that we can home. I honestly don't know what they would have done without Mike. I told him "can't you tell my parents like having a guy around to help my dad?"....he just laughed but he likes helping out. It's so great seeing him and my dad working on stuff together building their little guy-time bond. I can totally tell my dad loves him and of course my mom does she's always baking things for him (even when I hate what she's baking....e.i. anything with peanut butter)

Anywho I can't really remember what else went on this weekend. All I know is that I'm super tired since I was up super late trying to fix my asthma triggers project for a lady at my rotation site. Then all day today I traveled with a district manager from Albertsons who happened to be the company representative in my crazy management "apprentice like class". So of course she brought that up today....I tried to put a positive twist on everything I said, since I freak'n hated that class. Then all day tomorrow I'll be doing health screenings at a Senior Expo, which should be interesting since there is going to be 4-5,000 elderly persons attending. Maybe I'll see some of them boxing for the free stuff...hehe.

Most importantly I'm getting super excited for my friend Michelle whose going to be having a beautiful baby now in just hours....tomorrow!!! I'm still working on finding out whether I can come to the hospital Friday or not. So far it's looking pretty good. Keep your fingers crossed!

I Heart Working For Free!

So rotations started this last week. At first, I thought this whole elective rotation with Albertsons was going to be a blow off. This first week, I busted my ass on about a thousand different projects and made about a thousand appointments to meet with all the big-wigs of the different departments. I'm not going to cross my fingers in hopes to be learning a whole lot on this rotation. I can't really complain my hours are pretty nice and there's a girl there from UIC with me whose pretty cool. It's also nifty to be able to run my errands after work and still have a little time to go and work out. It's crazy to be working this hard on what I like to call "bitch" work and not get paid. Oh well, it's the price you pay to have the special "Dr." in front of your name. Damn that's hot.

I'd write about my weekend, but I'm exhausted. In short, there were spray farts compliments of Rebecca at BINGO (hey girl there's your shout out) and plenty of manual labor. Hopefully tomorrow there will be time to write.
